Title VI Notice

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services, hereby gives notice that it is the policy of the Department to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related nondiscrimination authorities in all programs and activities for which the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services, receive any Federal financial assistance from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT), through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Title VI and related nondiscrimination authorities require that no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, low income or Limited English Proficiency, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination.

Any person who believes they have, individually or as a member of any specific class of persons, been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, income level or Limited English Proficiency has the right to file a formal complaint with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with a Department Title VI Coordinator within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.

A complaint regarding the Office of Motor Vehicles may be mailed to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services, Office of Motor Vehicles, Attention: Title VI Coordinator, P.O. Box 64886, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70896-4886.
